Honor the rites of your body

Touch Ceremony is a practice that returns people to their present bodies through massage therapy,

inviting aliveness and guiding us to our own self-healing.

We are out of touch with ourselves. In a world that moves too fast, the stillness we need to care for ourselves is scarce, and because of that, our resources to care for others grow less. We become alienated from our bodies when time is not given to them. In this isolation we suffer.

To live well together, we cannot accept our collective depletion. Esalen® massage and therapeutic bodywork are the ways of becoming in touch with ourselves again. This self-knowledge is the spring of collective struggle, tiding tranquility and justice.

Healing one another means healing ourselves. In the pursuit of personal and social transformation, our mission at Touch Ceremony is to provide presence-based massage therapy accessible to all people in Austin, TX as well as Lockhart, TX.

Touch ceremony is founded on three core beliefs.

01.

Every person deserves to know themselves and to feel alive in their own body.

02.

Every person has the autonomy to determine their own relationship to touch.

03.

Every person defines health and wellness for themselves.

Testimonials

My massage experience with Lance was really affirming. They have a quiet soothing presence and their communication style is nonaggressive and clear. I generally do not trust White people — but Lance made sure that I felt comfortable and safe and that we had clear boundaries. They never did anything without consent, and inquired about sensitive areas and asked to see what intention and service I needed and wanted from the experience. I appreciated the language used to describe what they were doing as we worked through the massage. Lance is very respectful and came across as sincere and never performative. The work and authenticity speak for themselves. I want to say that, as a Queer person, my experience with Lance’s practice was very positive and I look forward to returning.” -M.T.O.

"I came to Lance for a massage to address neck and back pain; not only was my experience deeply relaxing, Lance also helped me move through much of the pain and tension that had been stuck in those specific areas. Lance was incredibly generous with their energy and time, and I did not anticipate how much energy work would be involved in our session, and how necessary this kind of spiritual work would be in healing my physical ailments. Lance is a very caring, empathetic and communicative practitioner, with a calm demeanor that put me at ease and helped me begin healing injuries that are as spiritual and emotional as they are physical. The massage I received was an invaluable experience and I look forward to working with Lance more in the future." -K.V.
